The amount of various Chihuahua colors is amazing! They can be a solid color, marked, splashed, and almost anything imaginable! There are no set standards on their markings like there are for other breeds of dogs. The American Kennel Club does not disqualify or penalize for coat color variations.
When Chihuahuas are born, you can see immediately what coloring they will have, as they generally do not darken or lighten much as they get a bit older, like some breeds do. Their colors are a matter of personal preference to their owner and does not affect their health or personality. For example, white Boxers can have serious health problems, but with Chihuahuas, their colors and markings are perfectly normal.
