Chihuahua Characteristics
It would be impossible to fully describe all of the different aspects that encompass Chihuahua characteristics! Chihuahuas are very intelligent, but they are also known for their stubbornness. Training them requires a lot of time, patience, and diligence. 
Though Chihuahuas will spend many lazy hours just laying around, they are still active dogs. The good part about this, is that it doesn’t take a lot of space to exercise them, and simply running through your house gives them plenty of exercise! Because of this, they make great pets for older people or people who live in apartments. They do not tolerate cold very well and must always be kept as an indoor dog. One of their characteristics, is to shake and tremble easily, but this is not truly due to the cold, it is just part of their metabolism. They are total show-offs and love attention. They are charming little dogs, and quickly learn what cute, little trick it takes, to get you to give them what they want! Chihuahua characteristics also include confidence, independence, and self-importance. This can be seen by the way that Chihuahuas carry themselves as they strut throughout the house! They are proud, graceful, and dainty. 
Chihuahuas are friendly, but more so with the people that they live with, rather than just any stranger that they meet. Other characteristics including attaching themselves to one particular person, thereby needing lots of socialization, to keep them from becoming too “clingy”. They always want to be involved with whatever you are doing and will stay by your side the whole time. They do not miss anything that is going on around them, thus making them excellent watchdogs. However, they do seem to have more courage than brains, and will try and run off un-welcomed animals, no matter what the size! Owning a Chihuahua means a lifetime of affection and loyalty, as they freely show and give their love, which are the exact characteristics that we adore!
